Dodge M80 Concept to Inspire New Light Truck?

In 2002, Dodge unveiled a light truck concept called the M80 that impressed everyone who laid eyes on it. That said, we here at Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group, serving the greater Downintown,PA area, never quite understood why Dodge didn't opted to bring it into production.

One reason that many speculate is that it's because the market was simply too saturated with light truck models ten years ago. That's a notion that we agree with to a certain extent, but now there are hardly any light truck models on the market at all. And that means it might be the perfect time for Dodge to dust off the M80 concept and finally build a production model out of it.

And while it would likely need to be updated, some of the features that we here at Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group would like to see staying in a new version of the Dodge M80 concept include...

-          Its prominent front-end grille that uses thick bars with a mesh pattern behind them
-          The rounded side mirrors that added a retro flair
-          Its unibody design that would lend itself to better fuel economy
-          Use of contrasting, black wheel wells and side panels

But would Dodge really opt to offer a light truck these days?

They'd likely pass the platform along to their sibling brand, Ram to use in an updated Dakota model. The mid-size truck has been discontinued for some time, but it still carries quite a bit of weight with truck enthusiasts.

In the end, whether Dodge or Ram opts to offer a model based on the M80 concept, you can bet that Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group, located at 1221 E Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA, will keep you updated every step of the way. So make sure to stay tuned for more on it, as well as other Dodge news.
