One reason that many speculate is that it's because the market was simply too saturated with light truck models ten years ago. But would Dodge really opt to offer a light truck these days?

They'd likely pass the platform along to their sibling brand, Ram to use in an updated Dakota model. The mid-size truck has been discontinued for some time, but it still carries quite a bit of weight with truck enthusiasts.
