In case, you haven't heard us raving like a bunch of teenage groupies, Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group wants to take a moment to discuss breaking developments surrounding the forthcoming Camaro ZL1. If you've been following our blog, you know that at the heart of the Camaro ZL 1 is a supercharged 6.2-liter engine. And, while we've said it once, we'll say it again: SEA-rated at 580 horsepower and 556 lb.-ft. of torque, it is the most powerful Camaro ever to hit the production line! More than that, it offers significantly more horsepower than luxe sports cars such as the R8 GT, Gran Turismo, and SLS AMG. Between 15 and 175 more hp, to be exact.
Given the Chevy Camaro ZL1's impressive power and cardiac-arrest prompting, 3.9-second 0-60 mph sprint time, the question on the forefront of many interested drivers' minds is: How much is that kind of brute force going to run me? After all, the R8 GT starts at $196,800, the Gran Turismo at $122,800, and the SLS AMG at $185, 750... Given the Chevy Camaro ZL1 offers substantially more compelling, one could speculate it too will cost well over 100k.
Well, you can stop speculating and/or worrying. As always, Chevy has come through with an approachable price tag that makes one of the highest-powered vehicles available on the market available at a fraction of the cost. Specifically, Chevy has just announced a starting price of $54,995, including a $900 delivery fee.
When will it be available? Starting spring 2012... just a couple of months away. So be sure to look for it on the Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group lot (located at 1221 E. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA) and stop in for a test drive. Just know, we are not responsible for any speeding tickets you incur.
